Gulshan Jha led what was a complete team performance to seal a win against Oman in the ongoing Canada T20I Tri Series. This closes out a 163 days win drought for Nepal against any International full team. It seemed like every other match Nepal is playing in the last few months until Gulsan Jha walked out to bat. He went guns blazing against every Oman baller to score 40 off just 17 balls and remained not out at the end while Dipendra Singh Airee scored 18 runs off 5 balls in the last over. Nepal managed 176 runs in 20 overs with contributions from Kushal Malla (30 off 27), Anil Sah (27 off 21) and Aasif Sheikh (27 off 22).
Oman, chasing 177 did not have a good start as Karan KC struck first ball to trap Kashyap Prajapati LBW. Shoaib Khan scored 45 off 39 balls and Rafiullah smashed 33 off just 12 balls to give Oman some hope but was not enough as every Nepali bowler chipped away wickets. Again, Gulsan Jha picked up 2 crucial wickets and closed out the game taking the last wicket. He was adjudged Man of the Match for his all round performance.
Nepal won the match by 37 runs and is sitting closely behind Canada in the points table. Nepal will take on Canada and Oman again on 1st and 2nd of October. If Nepal can win both matches, there is a high chance that they will win the T20I series.
